Being on GPS Ankle Monitoring Services is a privilege offered in lieu of incarceration. While the ability to GPS-track offenders has existed for a long time, immediate, real-time accountability has not. With the passage of the Debbie & Marie Domestic Violence Prevention Act and its enactment in July 2024, Smoky Mountain Offender Tracking aspired to provide that accountability and go the extra mile with our Guardian Clip Victim Notification Program. After many years of seeing offenders unjustly prosecuted due to false allegations of breaking their pre-trial/protective orders, we set out to hold our offenders accountable and protect them with documented proof of their location for the courts if allegations arise. Additionally, we notify survivors of Domestic Violence of the proximity of their abuser.

 

​Within moments of a call, we are in the field at local jails, courts, and bail bonding agencies. Our clients are measured and fitted with a state-of-the-art Smart Tag and registered in our computerized/CAD-assisted GPS Overwatch Platform. Subsequent Domestic Violence Survivors are contacted by our office/ Field Agent to come in and get their Guardian Mini-Clip, which is digitally linked with their abuser with set exclusion zones.  When we are alerted to an exclusion zone exception, both the offender and survivor are called to ensure compliance of the offender and safety and peace of mind for the survivor. Our regular GPS-monitored offenders are also monitored for compliance with their bond conditions.
